so, about this whole sleeping in his crib NONSENSE...yah, NOT SO MUCH!!!! i went into this whole situation with my new 'enhanced calm' my mom SWORE i 'needed'. knowing me...i'm not exactly what one would call 'calm'. hahahahah we did our usual shower, sagggeeee (massage), nah-nite. i wouldn't exactly call it 'routine'...mostly because it wasn't exactly consistent. i put him in the crimb determined to make him stay. he was standing and pretty much screaming at the top of his little baby lungs (you know, that terrible scream that can make any mother cringe) and i was trying to remain calm. suddenly, he was climbing on the bumper (his aunti dani had already advised at least six months ago that it be removed...i guess i was procrastinating) and i started panicking trying to get the bumper out ASAP. as i made my way to the back of the crib....you guessed it...HE JUMPED! long story short...he slept on the floor that nite because it was the only way i could get him to calm down and remain calm. after calming him down, i worked quickly to get the bumper off and turn the crib into a TODDLER BED. i was a bit apprehensive at first but i had a feeling it was my only option.
when he woke up, i showed him his new bed and spent the first day/nite getting him used to the idea. it was a struggle the first nite, but we established a routine the very next nite. he tells me he is ready for 'nah-nite' as he calls it, he gets a saaaggggeee, crawls into bed, i wrap him into a burrito, he takes his baba and goes to sleep. it's been an entire week of successful sleeping FOR BOTH OF US! he is now so used to his routine that he gets fussy and demands to go bed...
